Kennards Hire is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Driver to join its Auckland team. The role involves delivering and collecting hire equipment from customer sites while helping customers use equipment safely and ensuring high standards of service and equipment quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and collect equipment from customer sites.
  • Safely load and unload hire equipment.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service.
  • Instruct and demonstrate the safe use of equipment to customers.
  • Inspect equipment when it is checked in and checked out.
  • Carry out regular equipment servicing and minor repairs when required.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and condition of equipment.
  • Assist with cleaning branch facilities when required.
  • Follow company safety procedures and operational requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Interest in machinery and equipment is beneficial.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and prolonged standing.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment checks, including a drug test.
  • Dangerous Goods and Forklift licences are preferred but not essential.

Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring approximately 40 hours per week on a rotating roster. The branch operates Monday through Sunday, so flexibility to work different days and shifts is required.

Work Environment

The Driver works between the Auckland branch and customer sites, delivering and collecting a variety of hire equipment. The role combines driving, customer service, equipment handling, inspections, and hands-on physical work.
