Position Summary

The Electrician will support electrical works from installation through testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The role requires practical technical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to work according to approved drawings and project requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to ensure electrical work is completed according to required quality standards and project schedules.

Daily Tasks and Duties

Carry out electrical installation work at residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Perform electrical testing and maintenance activities.
Install and terminate electrical cables and wiring systems.
Install conduits, cable trays, and related electrical infrastructure.
Install and connect DBs, SMDBs, MDBs, and isolators.
Install switches, sockets, lighting systems, and other electrical equipment.
Carry out cable laying, glanding, termination, and testing.
Inspect electrical installations and identify potential faults.
Perform electrical troubleshooting and rectification work.
Assist with testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
Follow approved electrical drawings and project specifications.
Use electrical tools and equipment safely and correctly.
Coordinate with supervisors and engineers regarding assigned electrical work.
Work with other trades to avoid conflicts and delays on project sites.
Complete assigned tasks within required project schedules.
Maintain proper housekeeping around the work area.
Handle electrical tools, materials, and equipment safely.

Electrical Installation Responsibilities

The Electrician will be involved in a variety of electrical installation activities depending on the project requirements.

Install electrical wiring and cables.
Install and secure conduits and cable trays.
Perform cable pulling and laying.
Carry out cable glanding and termination.
Install distribution boards and electrical panels.
Install isolators, switches, sockets, and lighting fixtures.
Ensure electrical connections are completed correctly.
Check installations against approved drawings and specifications.

Testing and Troubleshooting

A key part of the role is identifying electrical faults and helping ensure that systems operate safely and correctly.

Test electrical installations and circuits.
Identify electrical faults and defective components.
Carry out troubleshooting and fault-finding activities.
Perform required rectification work.
Assist with electrical system testing and commissioning.
Report significant technical problems to supervisors or engineers.

Skills, Education and Experience

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as an Electrician.
Practical knowledge of electrical installation practices.
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
Experience with electrical testing and maintenance.
Knowledge of cable laying, glanding, and termination.
Understanding of electrical distribution systems.
MEP experience is preferred.
Building construction experience is preferred.
Knowledge of UAE electrical standards and site practices is an advantage.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently when required.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good communication skills.

Preferred UAE and GCC Experience
